I took the week off last week (obviously). I was feeling rundown and didn’t really have anything funny to say (so, pretty much the same as every other week).
So, the presidential nominees are blustering (no one cares). And that means my phone will continuously ring with calls for support that I won’t answer. There are debates on TV that I won’t watch. And politicking that…blah, blah, blah
Does anyone really pay any attention until the two candidates are officially announced? Sure, Donald Trump is putting on a circus and that in itself is probably garnering more ratings than CNN usually gets. However, it all just seems so, meh.
The debates never really talk about anything. It’s just pundit sayings and rehearsed rhetoric.
Pretty soon we’ll have the attack commercials and the true colors of American politics will emerge. Not red and blue, but black and blue.
Sure, Donald Trump is the “front runner” but he has as much chance of getting the Republican nod as anyone not named Hillary has of getting the Democrat one.
Yes, every news outlet raves that Carly Fiorina was the undisputed heavy weight debate champion of CNN.
Really, the primaries are a lot like the improve show “Who’s Line is it Anyway”. The points are made up and at the end the audience is in stitches…or, scratching their heads [yeah, that fits better with politics]…and a winner is chosen at random by the moderator.
But, for the next year, we get to watch the circus unfold. I’m waiting for everyone to pile out of one car. When will the pertinent questions get asked, like Does CNN have the budget for elephants? And if any of the candidates swing from a trapeze will another catch them?
