There are a couple things that I’ve heard recently, that I want to mention.
- California recently decided to stop fining people for having brown lawns. Recently. Like within the last week or two. Um, haven’t they been in a drought since, like, last summer? How is it that people (in a desert) can get in trouble for brown lawns?
- A college student blew through her savings account after 3 years and blamed her parents. Okay, I understand college is expense. Studying abroad is expensive, too. I can almost conceive of a situation where you might spend $90K in three years. But, why blame the parents? Interesting answer: They never sat her down and explained budgeting. Hmm…well, okay. But, they also won’t help pay for her last year of school and told her to get a job. The student didn’t really appreciate that answer. And that’s when I change the channel.
The only question I have is, what’s next? Will someone blame the drive-thu for not warning him that the coffee is hot (oh wait…)? Will a criminal sue a homeowner because he broke in through a skylight and fell onto a counter and cut himself on a knife (and win)?
Perhaps people will blame jean companies for not making it easier to take skinny jeans off. Or blame eyeglass companies when they eventually need glasses after wearing fake glasses for years.
Really, the only question is, will it end? I think we all know the answer to that, though.
