The Rising Cost of Driving…$1.90 Glory Days

It’s odd when $2.09 per gallon seems like a lot; but that’s the state we’re currently living in.  I suppose I just got used to gas prices dipping below $2.  It was nice.

All good things… (no, not the Star Trek: The Next Generation series finale.)

Hopefully, it’ll drop back down.  As long as it remains in the low $2 to $2.25 range, however, I’ll survive.  Spoiled is what it is.  The days when I paid $1.70/$1.85 are still recent memory.

The dread of $2.50 is back.  The fact that gas was once $3 seems incredible.  I mean, what happened?  Did we suddenly find more oil.  Did we open new pipe lines?  Did we spill less during shipping?

These are all questions without answers (or within a quick Google search).

The one thing I do know for certain, I really want the price of gas to dip back below $2.  Wishful thinking?  Maybe.  But, I say dream impossible dreams (is that Mary Poppins…Maria Rainer [from Sound of Music]…Julie Andrews).
