Just yesterday, we got some sweet swag at the store. I wasn’t sure what it was for: promotional giveaway, customer free item, employee incentive… We occasionally get posters to give out with video games (the recent COD Black Ops 2 [sorry if you jumped here to hear about the game] even had a fabric patch). But this was different.
Normally, those things tell you what they are on the box. But, this one didn’t. I tore through the box (not carefully) and examined the free stuff: a lanyard, a few promo codes, and a carrying-case for your handheld gaming system.
Turns out, those cases weren’t empty (good thing I dropped them…).
The store now has two new handheld gaming systems for the electronics department employees to wear on the weekends (fortunately they are attached to a belt and to the pouch…plus I like hiding security tags). But, here’s my question, why only on the weekends?
I like wearing free stuff. Especially when I can throw it over my shoulder and pretend I’m a gaming pirate. Or wear it on my hip like a gaming cowboy. (Wow, I’m a nerd.)
But, I think I’m the only one in the store who’s geeked about the free stuff. Sure, some of the guys want a Wii U lanyard, but I was the only one wearing the gaming systems (only because I was wearing both at once…guess I never learned to share).
