HufflePuff’s True Calling

We’ve all had this dream: You’ve just gotten off the Hogwarts Express, traveled by magically propelled boat across the Black Lake, and entered Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  You are sitting upon a stool in the Great Hall, watched by everyone, with an odd smelling, old hat whispering into your ear.  You wait with trepidation until it finishes its musings.  Then you hear it yell, “HufflePuff!”  You wake with a start in a cold sweat.

Thankfully, it was only a dream.  After all, most Potter fans agree, that Hufflepuff is just that fourth house, thrown in for the ordinary folk who don’t really fit anywhere else.  But, thanks to article over at Write to Live-Live to Write, I now know the true purpose and profession of Hufflepuff students…blogging!

(Not that anyone’s going to still be reading this after the link, but…) Be sure to enjoy the embedded video.  I didn’t but you should {I was too lazy [too lazy? wow. (you know it’s bad when your parentheticals begin to look like a complicated math equation…wait, if we’re supposed to start with the parentheses in math and work outward, should the proper configuration when writing be the opposite, i.e. ([{()}])?  Man, this is confusing.)]}.

So, now you know.  It may not be as exciting as Auror-ing (yep, I’m sure that’s how its supposed to become a verb) but, it’s got to beat sitting in Azkaban.  Unless you’re into brooding, deep madness without happiness; you know, emo.

Sidenote: ever notice that Elmo minus the L is emo, but Linus minus the L is inus…weird, right?  Perhaps the L makes them happy (is that why it’s part of LSD?)?

You know you can’t let me rabbit-trail.  Shame on you for not keeping me focused, reader.  Sheesh. You’d think you’d know better by now.  Okay, what were we talking about?  Oh yes, careers for the gifted youngsters at Xavier’s Institute.  Right, well, as long as they look normal…er…can pass for normal, I think any future is open to them, well, except politics…no, wait, in some timelines Beast is a politician, my bad.  See, you don’t need to be handsome to be a politician, it just helps…I mean, beauty is in the eye of the beholder?

I’m more freaked out we have the same dream. Which is all the more strange as I’ve never read or watched Harry Potter.
